The Wandering Life is an Australian-based travel website. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit the site, contact us or join our mailing list, how we use it, and how to get in touch with us about your privacy.
If you contact us or subscribe to our emails, we collect the information you provide, such as your name, email address and the contents of your message.
When you use the website, technical information may be collected automatically. This can include your IP address, browser and device details, the pages you visit, the links you use and the time of your visit. Our website, hosting and security services may collect this information to operate and protect the site.
We use information to respond to enquiries, send the emails you have asked for, operate and secure the website, understand how visitors use it and improve our content. We don’t sell the personal information you give us.
If you subscribe to our newsletter, you can unsubscribe using the link in any newsletter email, or by writing to us at hello@thewanderinglife.com.
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use The Wandering Life. We also use Microsoft Clarity to see how visitors interact with the site, including which pages they view, where they click and how they scroll. Clarity can produce heatmaps and recordings of website interactions. These help us find problems and improve the website; they are not recordings from your camera or microphone.
We use Google reCAPTCHA on our newsletter sign-up forms to help stop spam and automated sign-ups. reCAPTCHA checks whether a sign-up is made by a person or an automated program, and it does this by collecting information such as your IP address, browser details and how you interact with the page. This information is sent to Google and used under Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
These services may use cookies or similar technologies and collect information about your device, browser and use of the website. Google and Microsoft process information under their own privacy terms.
Cookies are small files that a website or service may place on your device. Some help the site work; others help us measure how it’s used. You can manage or block cookies in your browser settings, although doing so may affect some site features.
We use service providers to run the website and send our emails, including our website host and email newsletter service. These providers may handle information on our behalf to deliver those services.
Articles may contain affiliate links or links to other websites. If you follow one, that website may collect information under its own privacy policy. Our affiliate relationships are explained in our Disclosure Policy.
We’re based in Australia and welcome visitors from other countries. Some of the services we use may process or store information outside Australia. Privacy rights can vary depending on where you live, so please contact us if you have a question about information relating to you.
You can write to hello@thewanderinglife.com to ask what personal information we hold about you, request a correction or raise a concern about how it has been handled. Please give enough detail for us to find the relevant information and respond. You can also ask us to delete information, subject to any reasons we may need to keep it.
We may update this policy when our website or information practices change. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
For privacy questions or requests, email hello@thewanderinglife.com.
